Brothers and sisters … growing up together, we loved them or hated them – depending on what was going on at the moment! Often they became our best friends as we grew older together. If you think about it, our siblings are the people we share more of life with than any other person! Childhood friends move away. Parents are already older when we’re born, and usually die before us. Relationships with our spouse and children fill our adult years, but don’t share our early formative years. It’s our brothers and sister who go through life with us from beginning to end! Some would say that losing a beloved sibling is one of life’s hardest losses … a grief unlike any other.

There is heartache. But there is also hope.

Join our very own Dr. Mark Vande Braak on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 1 PM CT as he leads an online, educational grief support session to explore the unique loss associated with the death of a sibling.

This offering is part of “Dr. Mark’s Grief Support Series,” a program of year-round educational grief/loss support provided by Lutheran Family Service. Each session will focus on a different area of loss as presented by Dr. Mark, an expert with more than 30 years of mental healthcare experience in death and trauma. This is a FREE series with no registration fee. If you would like to join this session on the loss of a sibling, sign up below. Please share with anyone who may be grieving a loss of this kind.
