Grounded: A Therapeutic Group For Men

Most men were never taught how to deal with anxiety, stress, or low moods — only how to push through, stay busy, or keep it inside.

This 8‑week men’s therapy group is designed to help you shift out of survival mode and into a steadier, more grounded way of living.

Using principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), you’ll learn practical tools to handle difficult thoughts and emotions without letting them run your life. Instead of trying to “fix” anxiety or power through burnout, you’ll build real skills you can use right away at work, in your marriage, in parenting, and in everyday stress.

Join Rev. Nathan Grewe, tLMHC, a pastor and Mental Health Therapist here at Lutheran Family Service, as he leads sessions that include teaching, guided exercises, and honest conversation. We’ll tackle common struggles men face — irritability, overthinking, emotional shutdown, overworking, and feeling disconnected.

This isn’t a sit‑around-and-vent group. It’s a men’s therapy group. It’s about building strength, clarity, and direction in a confidential, structured setting with other men who want the same.

If you’re ready to stop carrying everything alone and start living with more purpose and presence, this group is for you.

This group meets every Wednesday for 8 weeks at 6:00pm CT in our Bettendorf, Iowa, office. All men in the area over 16 are welcome. If you would like to join the group, sign up below. Please share with anyone in the Quad Cities who may need this support.

* Group participants will need an intake prior to joining the group.
(Most major insurances accepted and sliding fee scale offered for those without insurance.)
