My, How LCMS People Love Their Pastors!

We’re celebrating! We’ve just wrapped up the first — Grow With Us ● Go With Us — initiative, which set out to find new partners in ministry and strengthen support for pastors across our region.

We’re thrilled that 27 congregations met the challenge of raising up at least 10 new LFS partners from within their church families! These passionate Lutherans stepped forward to walk alongside LFS, providing financial support which will be used to expand access to Christ-centered mental health care and pastoral support.

The impact reached across South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Illinois, reminding us of the power of collaboration and care for one another we share as we live out our calling in the Body of Christ. Through Grow With Us ● Go With Us, God provided new connections, expanded support, and strengthened the bond between congregations and their shepherds through Lutheran Family Service as their partner in ministry serving people in their area.

A Night Out For Your Pastor

Each of the 27 congregations received  a VISA gift card, which they in turn presented to their pastor. This simple gift – delivered with words of love and appreciation – affirmed how much our spiritual leaders are valued and supported by the people they serve.

It was my privilege to be the one who got to call lay leaders in these 27 congregations to inform them that they met the goal, and that a gift card for them to give their pastor was on its way. The best part about these phone calls were the conversations I got to have with them, through which I heard clearly just how much they really do love and care for their pastors and how they appreciate Lutheran Family Service’ support and care for them as well.
