Marriage & Relationships

The past six months I have been sharing findings from the Center for Marriage and Families at the Institute for American Values as adapted from Why Marriage Matters: Thirty conclusions from the Social Sciences. The goal was to show that marriage does matter and that Godly marriage makes a difference not only in the lives of husbands and wives but also their children and others around them.
When you look at it that is quite a list! You can read my past blogs for more details or download the summary at www.americanvlues.org/wmm3
These studies verify the importance of what God told us in His Word. “Let marriage be held in honor among all,” Hebrews 13:4a. Not only is marriage a Divine institution but God’s desire is that we honor this institution. This is a good institution!
Jesus used his own connection to you and to His whole Church to show how love, forgiveness, servant-hood, and sacrifice can build relationships and create family. It is His love and forgiveness shown in life and given on the cross that is the basis of marriages and what really makes them matter.
Let’s continue to hold marriage in high regard and give it the honor and respect that God has intended that it have. The study shows that it can make a positive difference in your life, your family, and even your community.
