Join special guests, Grant & Sarah DeJong, at the Iowa Prayer Rally for Life!

Meet the DeJong family! Grant and Sarah are a couple whose dream to adopt a child with Down Syndrome led to something extraordinary.

Their journey with Lutheran Family Service in 2020 inspired the creation of a special adoption program. The program focuses on placing abortion-vulnerable babies with a prenatal diagnosis of Down Syndrome into loving, Christian homes uniquely equipped to parent a special needs child. Up to 85 percent of babies with a prenatal diagnosis of Down Syndrome are aborted. Grant and Sarah knew the joy and blessings that a child with Down Syndrome brings to a family as their oldest daughter, Cheyanne, has Down Syndrome.

This program not only helped the DeJongs welcome their daughter, Grace, into their family in 2021, but it also gives life-affirming options to expectant parents facing a Down Syndrome diagnosis who do not feel equipped to parent. We have been working to spread the word to OBGYNs, pregnancy resource centers, and other medical professionals.

Together, we can ensure more children like Grace find loving homes and protect the most vulnerable among us.
