“A Story Of Faith, Waiting, And God’s Perfect Timing” was written by Tyler and Kelsey, who share the personal story of adopting their daughter, Janie, through Lutheran Family Service.

After years of infertility and uncertainty, Tyler and Kelsey discovered that the family they had been praying for was already part of God’s plan.

Faith Through The Waiting

Shortly after getting married, we looked forward to growing our family. We prayed, hoped, and held tightly to our faith as we faced the heartbreak of infertility. The season brought longing and uncertainty, but it also strengthened our trust in God. We believed He would bring our family together in the right way and at the right time.

In January 2024, we contacted Lutheran Family Service (LFS) after a family friend told us about the organization. We reached out with hopeful hearts and many questions.

From the beginning, the LFS staff walked alongside us. They guided us through each step of the process with kindness, patience, and understanding. Their support reminded us that we did not walk this journey alone. We trusted that God was unfolding our story exactly as He intended.

When Hope Became Reality

Over the next year, we waited, prayed, and hoped for a match. We looked forward to the day we would meet the child meant for our family.

In the summer of 2025, that day finally arrived. We matched with an expectant family, and our prayers turned into reality.

Just two months later, our daughter, Janie, entered the world. She was a beautiful answer to years of prayer. In that moment, the waiting, tears, and uncertainty made sense. God had led us to the child we were meant to love.

This summer, we finalized Janie’s adoption. The milestone closed one chapter and opened another. We now look forward to a lifetime of love, laughter, and memories together. Janie is our miracle, our blessing, and the greatest gift we could have imagined.

The Hands And Hearts Behind Our Journey

Throughout the adoption process, several LFS social workers guided and supported us. We are deeply grateful for each one.

They stood beside us during our first meeting with Janie’s birthparents. They supported us through the hospital experience and helped us navigate the legal process. At every stage, they offered encouragement, guidance, and care.

The LFS team also helped facilitate our early conversations with Janie’s birthparents. Those conversations laid the foundation for the open and loving relationship we share today. Their compassion and dedication gave us confidence throughout the journey. We will never have words big enough to express our gratitude for the people who helped make us a family.

Most of all, we are endlessly grateful for Janie’s birthparents. Their trust in us and their love for Janie will forever remain part of our family’s story. Their courage and selflessness made our family possible. We carry deep gratitude for them and always will.

Considering Adoption?

Every adoption journey is unique, but no one has to walk it alone. Lutheran Family Service is here to provide guidance, support, and compassionate care for hopeful adoptive families, expectant parents, and birth families every step of the way.

Adoption isn’t just a choice—it’s a calling, a relationship, and a powerful reflection of God’s love for us.

“He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will.” – Ephesians 1:5
